First stop on the series -Spicy Green Bean- and it’s already giving: bold flavor, badass vibes, and bites that hit you in the feels.

Today, Rocco and I had lunch at the Spicy Green Bean Café in Glastonbury, CT—and it was an experience we didn’t even know we needed. Cozy, quirky, and full of personality, this local gem instantly made us feel like regulars.

💬 The People Make the Place:

We met the owner (who’s fabulous, by the way) and could instantly feel her passion. She’s the kind of person who makes you want to keep coming back—not just for the food, but for the energy. You just know the love she puts into this place flows right into every dish.

🥤 Starter Vibes:

Mint Iced Tea – So fresh, so clean, and just the kind of sip you need to set the tone. We both ordered it and didn’t leave a drop behind.

Tomato Bisque – Thick, rich, and full of flavor. We shared a bowl and immediately regretted not ordering two. Rookie move.

🍗 The “PB&J Wings?!” Moment:

Okay, here’s the plot twist—we didn’t even order these wings. The owner surprised us with a plate, just to try. And let me tell you: it was love at first sticky, spicy, nutty bite.

PB&J wings sound chaotic, right? But these were chef’s kiss perfect. They somehow managed to be comfort food with a kick, and we were low-key blown away. We looked at each other mid-bite like, “Didn’t expect that. OBSESSED.”

This right here? That’s what Hidden Bites, Local Vibes is all about.

🥪 Sandwich Game = Strong

I had:
🧡 Twisted Chicken Salad BLT – Crunchy bacon, creamy chicken salad, crisp lettuce, and all the vibes. It was packed with flavor and totally delivered.

Rocco had:
🔥 Stop Clucking Around – The name alone is a win, but the sandwich? Juicy, flavorful, and completely devoured.

No crumbs left. Zero regrets.

We loved the whole vibe so much, we decided to book them to cater one of our upcoming events. Yup, that’s how you know a spot is special—you don’t just eat there once, you bring them into your world.

And then we found out they serve breakfast on weekends?? You already know we’ll be back. Mimosas in hand. Forks locked and loaded.
