PamRoc’s Diary: A Night of Color, Light & Love at Chihuly Garden & Glass
If you find yourself in Seattle and want to be completely wowed—like jaw-dropped, soul-hugged, what-is-this-magic level wowed—then you have to visit Chihuly Garden and Glass.
Rocco and I stepped into this art-meets-nature dreamscape and instantly felt like we were walking through a fantasy. Think: glass blown into wild blooms, floating orbs, fiery towers, and chandeliers that feel like they’re dripping straight from another galaxy. Every room? A vibe. Every sculpture? A masterpiece.
But the magic didn’t stop there…
We had dinner under the freakin’ Space Needle. Yes, you read that right. Dining at the base of one of the most iconic landmarks in the U.S., surrounded by glass art glowing in twilight? Chef’s kiss. It was romantic, inspiring, and hands-down one of our favorite travel moments to date.
There’s something about Chihuly’s work—how it plays with light, how it feels alive. It’s not just art… it’s an experience. It whispers, slow down, look closer, and let wonder in.
PamRoc Tip: Try to go close to sunset. The gardens light up as the sky dims, and the reflections? Next level. Also, grab a cocktail at the Collection Café and just vibe. You’ll feel like you’re sipping in a dream.
Fun East Coast Twist: Chihuly at Mohegan Sun
If you’re not heading to Seattle anytime soon, good news: you can still get a dose of Dale Chihuly’s brilliance right here on the East Coast.
Next time you’re at Mohegan Sun, head into the Casino of the Sky and walk past the stunning indoor waterfall—Taughannick Falls. Right across from Todd English’s Tuscany, you’ll see a massive glass installation called “River Blue.” Standing 25 feet tall and made from over 2,500 hand-blown glass pieces, this glowing cobalt sculpture is a total showstopper. It’s giving drama, elegance, and that OMG-I-need-a-photo moment.
So whether you’re wandering the Pacific Northwest or playing luxe in Connecticut, Chihuly’s genius is never far from reach.
